Oberon I
Son of Dworkin, first King of Amber. Died repairing the Pattern during the Patternfall War almost twenty years ago.
Osric
Son of Oberon and Cymnea. Died in his attempt to walk the Pattern.
Finndo
Son of Oberon and Cymnea. Rebelled against Oberonís rule after the King retroactively annulled his marriage to Cymnea to legalize his marriage to Faiella, who had already borne him a son. Finndo was slain by Benedict, his brother.
Benedict
Last surviving son of Oberon and Cymnea. Legally a bastard, although Oberon and Cymnea were married when he was born. Armsmaster of Amber, and greatest living warrior.
Eric I
Son of Oberon and Faiella. Born before the Kingís marriage to Cymnea was annulled. Crowned himself King in Oberonís absence during the Patternfall War. Died defending Amber from the forces of Chaos.
Mephisto
Son of Eric. Arrived in Amber about five years ago, and is now studying sorcery and other disciplines with Fiona.
Corwin
Son of Oberon and Faiella. After scribing his own Pattern during the Patternfall war, Corwin took to wandering, and is seldom seen in Amber.
Dierdre
Daughter of Oberon and Faiella. Pulled into the Abyss by Brand at the end of the Patternfall War.
Fiona
Daughter of Oberon and Clarissa. Talented sorceress and the source for information on the metaphysical. Her powers are respected and feared by all.
Bleys
Son of Oberon and Clarissa. Larger-than-life hero of Amber, who fought his way up the stairway of Kolvir to assault Castle Amber. Magician, warrior, and bon-vivant. The most impressive man in the universe.
Brand
Son of Oberon and Clarissa. Tried to destroy Amber and remake it in his own image during the Patternfall War. Shot by Caine, and fell into the Abyss.
Llewella
Daughter of Oberon and Moins. Resides in Rebma, serving Queen Moire, and generally stays out of family politics
Caine
Son of Oberon and Rilga. Commands half of Amberís navy. Has a reputation for ruthlessness, expedience, and pragmatism that makes his own family fear and distrust him. He seems, however, utterly loyal to Amber.
Julian
Son of Oberon and Rilga. Guards the Forest of Arden against approaches out of Shadow. Renowned for his self-control and the fantastic beasts he commands.
Gerard
Son of Oberon and Rilga. Commands the other half of Amberís navy. Does not seem to be very clever, but is fiercely dedicated to Amber. His strength is unmatched by any known being.
Florimel
Daughter of Oberon and Dybele. The perfect hostess. She acts as Amberís unofficial goodwill ambassador and chatelaine. She is more concerned with proper manners and appearances than with political infighting.
Coral
Illegitimate daughter of Oberon and Kinta, the wife of the Begman ambassador. She was Queen of Kashfa for a short time, married to Rinaldo, but abdicated and divorced him about eight years ago. She has not been seen since.

Son of Oberon and Paulette. King of Amber by the Grace of the Unicorn.
Martin
Son of Random. Much enamoured of high tech Shadows. Heir Apparent to the Throne of Amber.
Vialle
Wife of Random, and Queen of Amber. A blind sculptress. Murdered by a Pattern Ghost of Bleys, during (the allegedly dead) Finndo's attempt to ruin Amber.
Mirelle
Daughter of Oberon and Paulette. Died in her attempt to walk the Pattern.
Baron Bayle
Official Vintner to Amber, and staunch supporter of the Crown. Very rich, and very old family.
Vinta Bayle
Daughter of Baron Bayle. One of Caineís ex-mistresses.
Lord Chantris
Head of the second oldest House in Amber. Renowned for breeding horses. Lord Chantris is one of the few people able to claim that he has beaten Benedict at chess.
Lord Danesh
Captain of the Amber Guard. He is called the "Black Lion" behind his back.
Dik
Ancient retainer of the Royal Family of Amber. Can usually be found tidying up the messes they make, although he is no longer very spry.
Droppa MaPantz
The Court Jester of Amber. He supplements his medieval slapstick with routines stolen from comedians all over Shadow.

Steward and Secretary of Castle Amber and Assistant to the King. Bearer of the Royal Seal.

Mistress of Protocol. This is where young Amberites learn their manners.

Son of Corwin and Dara. King of the Courts of Chaos, half-brother to Mandor, Jurt, and Despil.
Dara
Grand-daughter (of some degree) of Benedict, and mother of Merlin, Mandor, Jurt, and Despil. A renowned Shapeshifter and sorceress.
Mandor
Half-brother to Merlin. Perhaps the second-finest sorcerer in the Courts.
Jurt
Son of Dara and Sawall. Bore a grudge against Merlin for many years, but is now one of his strongest supporters.
Despil
Son of Dara and Sawall. A bit of a recluse.
Julia Barnes
Sorceress from the Shadow Earth. Once Merlinís lover, now married to Jurt.
Sawall
Merlinís foster-father. Head of House Sawall.
Gilva
Head of House Hendrake, betrothed to Merlin.
Suhuy
Keeper of the Logrus. Expert in all types of magic. Teaches most young Chaosians how to Shapeshift, use the Logrus, cast sorcery, etc. Notoriously apolitical.
Lord Borel
Last head of House Hendrake. Slain ignobly by Corwin.
Harlequin
Court Jester of the Courts of Chaos. His antics tend to scare most of the courtiers. Merlin, however, seems to enjoy them.

Dalt
Illegitimate son of Oberon and Deela. Oberon raped the bandit Deela when he had captured her. She escaped and bore Dalt. Dalt has abandoned his vendetta against Amber since Kashfa gained independence, and works to support King Rinaldo, his childhood friend.
Delwin
Son of Oberon and Lora. Abandoned Amber after the death of his mother, and closed off his home Shadow. Does not communicate with Amber.

Daughter of Oberon and Lora. See Delwin.
Jasra
Wife of Brand, mother of Rinaldo. She has abandoned her claim on Kashfa, and has taken up residence at the Keep of the Four Worlds.
Rinaldo
Son of Brand and Jasra. King of Kashfa.
Nayda
Half-sister of Coral. Married Rinaldo after Coralís disappearance.
